ACTRA Maritimes ACTRA Awards in Halifax: December 2009 Celebrating the best in our industry, the ACTRA Awards in Halifax are presented every two years to recognize excellence in performance by ACTRA Maritimes Members. Awards Categories: » Outstanding Performance - Male » Outstanding Performance - Female » Outstanding Performance in a Commercial - Male » Outstanding Performance in a Commercial - Female Awards Criteria: The nominator must be an ACTRA Maritimes member in good standing. The nominated performer must be a member of ACTRA Maritimes in good standing. The production for which the member is nominated must have had its first exhibition or broadcast between the eligibility dates of the qualifying period. Any ACTRA signatory production is eligible, provided it meets the above criteria. (this includes productions shot under AIP, MIP, and training film agreements). Five awards may be presented: The ACTRA statuette for Outstanding Performance (male), the ACTRA Statuette for Outstanding performance (female), the ACTRA Certificate for Outstanding Performance in a Commercial (male), the ACTRA Certificate for Outstanding Performance in a Commercial (female), and The David Renton Award for Excellence (nominated by ACTRA Maritimes Council). If there are fewer than three nominations in any Outstanding Performance category, that award will not be presented. A jury of five persons will be selected to review the nominations and decide upon the winners. The chair of the jury will be a member of the council of ACTRA Maritimes, and the other four members will be chosen from other areas of the profession. The full council of ACTRA Maritimes will make nominations for the David Renton Award. This award will be presented for special services to the industry, or a body of work, or other special reasons. This award does not have to be granted during every qualifying period.
