Avoid Scam Agents
|
Frequently, our region is visited by so-called 'talent' or 'modelling' agencies operating out of Toronto that try to entice young aspiring performers into signing with them. These agencies will make big promises of work in the industry - if the performer (or their parents) pays big money for photos and representation.
If you (or anyone you know) are approached by any of the agencies on the ACTRA Toronto 'no-cheque' list, do not sign a contract nor make any sort of payment without contacting this office first.
It is ACTRA's strongest desire to hold talent and casting agencies to the highest standard of ethical conduct. There are far too many unscrupulous people out there only too happy to prey on the naivete of young people eager to get into what is a very difficult business.

Change of Address Form

If you wish to register a change of address with ACTRA, it must be done on this form. Please complete the
attached form, sign it and forward it to the ACTRA Maritimes office. We can't help you get work if we don't know where you are!

Meetings for New Members
|
The next New Members Meeting will be held on October 18th at 7pm. New members meetings are held in the ACTRA Maritimes Council Room.

Background Performers Hotline
|
ACTRA Maritimes members interested in Background work can call our Background Hotline at 420-1404 to be included on an availability list which is sent out each Monday morning to productions shooting in the Halifax region.
Members should call on the weekend to inform us of their availability for the following Wednesday to Tuesday.
Please include in your message (a) your ACTRA number, (b) your current phone number and (c) whether you can provide your own transportation.
