Avoid Scam Agencies
|
Frequently, our region is visited by so-called 'talent' or 'modelling' agencies operating out of Toronto that try to entice young aspiring performers into signing with them. These agencies will make big promises of work in the industry - if the performer (or their parents) pays big money for photos and representation.

If you are approached by any of the agencies on the ACTRA Toronto 'no-cheque' list, do not sign a contract nor make any sort of payment without contacting this office first.

It is ACTRA's strongest desire to hold talent and casting agencies to the highest standard of ethical conduct. There are far too many unscrupulous people out there only too happy to prey on the naivete of young people eager to get into what is a very difficult business.
