Youth Members Dine Al Fresco
|
The first ever ACTRA Maritimes Youth Wing Picnic was held on Labour Day under sunny skies at Halifax's Point Pleasant Park.

As you can see from the smiling faces, the fifty or so people who attended had a tremendous time.

Performers under the age of eighteen make up over 10% of the Branch membership. This was an opportunity for our Youth members to network, swap show stories, play some games and have fun.

Reports Committee member Margie Blom: The first annual ACTRA Youth Wing picnic was a great success. The Childrens Committee, headed by Martha Irving, decided to have a summer picnic this year for all minor ACTRA members, from the Maritimes, and their parents. The picnic was held at Point Pleasant Park on September 6th. Parents and children from all over the Maritimes met and joined in the fun and games, now these children of ACTRA Maritimes learned more about other members in the business and made some new friends too. Two talented ACTRA members helped to make the day a success. Heather Blom was on hand to do face painting and group improv games were led by Jim Fowler. Special thanks go to Ted Doane for all his hard work organizing this event.

Turn out for the event was great. Each family brought a dessert or salad. We hope to have an even better picnic next year.
