Richard Donat Wows Montreal Critics
|
Congratulations to Maritimes member Richard Donat for winning the Montreal critics award, the Mecca, for his direction of George Boyd's Wade in the Water at the Black Theatre Workshop and Michael Healey's The Drawer Boy at the Centaur Theatre Mainstage.

Richard was recently flown to Boston by PBS to voice the documentary The Real Great Escape. Maritime performers could ask for no better ambassador in 'the Boston states'. The film deals with archeologists digging the site of the infamous Nazi prison camp where they uncovered the remains of one of the escape tunnels. Several of the participants in the 'Great Escape', now in their 80s, were there to witness the find and talk about the whole operation.

Richard continues to voice the most widely distributed Canadian documentary series, The Sea Hunters - which is produced by Halifax's Eco Nova Productions and is seen in over 170 countries world-wide.
