Halfix, NS (May 17, 2021) — ACTRA Maritimes is delighted to announce the recent recipients of assistance from the John Dunsworth Screen Actor’s Fund, ACTRA Maritimes members Laura Kohoot, Emerson MacNeil and Katherine Shore.
The John Dunsworth Screen Actor’s Fund was set up in 2018 to pay tribute to ACTRA Maritimes film legend, John Dunsworth. This Fund was created to celebrate John’s generosity and support of Maritime film artists. Funds are awarded twice a year to an ACTRA Maritimes Full Member in good standing to assist in their pursuit of professional development or industry recognition. The Fund is open to all ACTRA Maritimes Full Members who are permanent residents of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island.
Laura Kohoot has been working and attending workshops with John Boylen from Centre for the Arts in Toronto, Emerson MacNeil has been furthering her studies with the Leblanc School of Acting in Vancouver, and Katherine Shore is studying acting and music at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. Previous recipients of the Fund include Charlie Boyle, attending LB Acting Studio, and Fiona Forsythe studying with Shakespeare by the Sea.
“Congratulations to Laura, Emerson and Katherine! John was a great supporter of emerging talent in the region and we are delighted again to honour his legacy.” said ACTRA Maritimes Branch President Chris Cuthbertson.
